Friends Mission Statement

The Friends of the Putnam Valley Library is an independent organization
formed exclusively to support the facilities, resources and services
of the Putnam Valley Library as it serves our community.
 

The purposes of the organization shall include:
 

To provide an association for persons interested in
supporting the Putnam Valley Library;
 

To support and cooperate with the Library in developing, maintaining,
and enhancing facilities, resources, and services for the community;
 

To provide supplemental resources to the Library through fundraising efforts;
 

To encourage support of the library through gifts, volunteer services,
endowments and bequests for the benefit of the Library;
 

To advocate for the library and promote the importance of the library
as a significant educational and cultural institution in the community;
 

To focus public attention on the Putnam Valley Library,
and to promote and stimulate the use of the Library’s facilities,
resources and services by the community.

The Friends of the Putnam Valley Library Board holds an Annual Meeting in April of each year.
The Friends Board may also meet to conduct the business of the Board in between annual meetings.
All meetings of the Friends Board are open to the public and are announced in advance.
